At the highest altitudes (around the Garajonay peak), the "Sea of Clouds" phenomenon occurs, caused by the trade winds and characterized by constant humidity, creating an ecosystem of lush valleys. The average temperature is around 20 ºC throughout the year.
Soil
Deep and clayey soils in the highest part of the mountain. At lower altitudes, soils with abundant stones and terraces, low scrubland, and a Mediterranean style (similar to those of Priorat).
