Description of their own wines
On the way to the 38th consecutive harvest in the D.O. Toro, the wines are characterized by their own personality and adhere to three fundamental characteristics: color, fruit, and very round wines, very easy to drink.
Professional career
He has worked in all the designations of origin of the Duero Valley, Arribes, and Sierra de Salamanca. He is a strong advocate for the native grape varieties of Castilla y León, and to better understand them, he has worked in situ with rufete, juan garcía, prieto picudo, etc., concluding that, although they are good varieties, tinta de toro is the best of all. In 1986, he co-founded the Asociación Castellano Leonesa de Enólogos, serving as its president for 12 years. Additionally, he is an honorary member of the federation of wine brotherhoods in Flanders, being the first Spaniard to receive this distinction.
In 1991, he launched his personal project: Bodegas Vega Saúco (D.O. Toro), where, in addition to being the owner, he also serves as the winemaker. Since 2004, he has also been the owner and winemaker of Bodegas Gil Luna.
