Professional career
Graduated in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Tras-os-Montes and Alto Douro and distinguished in March 2003 with the Eng. Antonio de Almeida award, granted to the best student of the Bachelor's degree. For the same reason, he received the Merit Scholarship in 2003, awarded by the Student Aid Fund. For several years, he combined his duties at Alves de Sousa with a PhD in Viticulture at the Department of Crop Science and Rural Engineering of the University of Tras-os-Montes and Alto Douro, completed in January 2011 with the highest distinction. He is responsible for production management as well as export markets.
