In the early years after taking possession of the vineyard estate, I acquired adjacent plots, restored them with diligence and patience, and planted vines in a way that has since allowed me to produce a wine that best reflects the local territory. In addition to the territory, grape cultivation is highly influenced by the decisions and limits that the viticulturist imposes and adheres to with a high level of responsibility. My work follows tradition, respects the environment and nature, and only interferes with the wine to the minimum extent.
Professional career
After attending the Nova Gorica Agricultural High School, Robi Bučinel and his family resumed the wine production tradition that had been carried out by their lineage since 1808, founding their own brand Bučinel, which was later renamed Dobuje. In 1989, Robi completed his laboratory internship at the Goriška Brda winery, where he became head winemaker until 1994, when he fully dedicated himself to the family winery Dobuje.
