Professional career
Pedro Aibar is considered one of the most influential technical directors on the national scene. Originally from Campo de Borja and heir to a family winemaking tradition, his career began at the Aragonese Bodegas Pirineos, where he quickly stood out and moved on to the renowned Viñas del Vero. There, thanks to his work, groundbreaking and complex wines like Secastilla and Blecua helped position the young D.O. Somontano among the most attractive production areas in the international market. He also took on the technical direction of the wineries Pagos de Moncayo (D.O. Campo de Borja) and El Coto de Rioja, where he worked until 2016. He is currently responsible for crafting the wines of the Tr3smano-Proventus winery in the D.O. Ribera del Duero.
