Description of their own wines
We work to create a white wine with great personality; long but at the same time pleasant on the palate and very long-lasting.
Professional career
In 1979, the couple Marisol Bueno and Javier Mareque acquired an estate where kiwis and Albariño grapes were cultivated. The property included a winery, which encouraged them to embark on the adventure of making their own wine. They began with a basic learning process in viticulture, supported by Marisol's knowledge of biology and the work of a local bodeguero in charge of winemaking. The initial idea was to have a winery for personal use, although it was relatively large in size, allowing them to produce not only for their own consumption but also a quantity they sold to other wineries. Later, Marisol started to look further ahead and decided to produce her own white wine to sell in bottles. The first wine was made with the 1990 harvest. After establishing themselves at the top of Spanish white wines, particularly those from Rías Baixas, the owners of Pazo de Señorans have carried out renovations on their pazo, adapting it to host all kinds of events. They have three lines of wines: the young white, Selección de Añada, and the most recent, Sol de Señorans, with which they have started experimenting with oak aging. The winery was a pioneer in aging in tanks, and its owner held the presidency of the Regulatory Council of the Rías Baixas Denomination of Origin until very recently.
