Family
Son of and grandson of winemakers and prominent bodegueros, highly renowned in their production area. The winery known today as La Casa de Monroy bore the name "Calixto Lozano" since 1886.
Description of their own wines
"For us, offering our wines again means a return to our roots. After 25 years of selling grapes, thanks to the collaboration of my children, we are back to the place we should have never left. These have been years of hard work, saving vineyards that had almost succumbed. But today, we have a collection of Garnacha grape vineyards with an average age of 60 years, of which we are proud, and whose quality is unquestionable. We hope consumers appreciate and enjoy them."
Professional career
He combined his work as an IT professional with managing the winery and vineyards since 1968. At the end of the 1980s, the winery in Valmojado (Toledo) ceased its operations. However, activity in the vineyard did not stop but was reinforced in the late 1990s to recover old vineyards and plant new ones.
