Amaren is the pursuit of perfection in all areas: the vineyard, its selection, its production, and its aging to create wines that inspire emotion and bring joy.
Professional career
1989 is the year when Juan Luis Cañas, the only son of D. Luis Cañas, takes over the family winery (Bodegas Luis Cañas). At the age of 33, he brings fresh ideas to the winery and starts producing new wines, increasingly focusing on Crianza wines, while beginning to outline what would later become the new winery. In 2009, the Amaren wine line, dedicated by the winemaker to his mother, was separated from the previous winery to give rise to the new Bodegas Amaren. Additionally, in 2008, he launched a new project far from his homeland, in the D.O. Ribera del Duero, named Dominio de Cair.
