Professional career
Born in Moral de Calatrava (Ciudad Real) in 1967. After completing his studies in Enology in Madrid, he began working with the Cantarero family at the now-defunct Bodegas Civinasa in Tarancón. Four years later, he moved to Manzanares (Ciudad Real) to practice his profession at the Jesús del Perdón Cooperative. From 1998 to 2013, he worked as Technical Director of Bodegas y Viñedos Viña Mayor, one of the major forces in the D.O. Ribera del Duero.
