Description of their own wines
Our white wine is highly expressive on the nose, with a blend of white fruits and hints of tropical ones, along with semi-hidden herbal notes. Complex and subtle on the palate, fruity and dry, with a wide range of nuances. Playful, luscious, glyceric. Balanced acidity provides the necessary freshness. Beautiful straw-yellow color. Slightly bitter finish that invites you to keep drinking. Perfectly enjoyable with a wide variety of foods and at many different times.
Professional career
Born in Albacete but with Galician roots, the producer, screenwriter, and film director José Luis Cuerda ventured into the world of winemaking after acquiring several vineyards and a 16th-century manor house in the Gomariz valley (Ribeiro del Avia, Ourense), which now houses a beautiful winery. His initial philosophy was based on recovering the traditional grape varieties of the area, with Treixadura as the flagship, and incorporating the most modern techniques to craft wines that respect the historical character of the Galician region. In 2005, he launched the first vintage of Sanclodio, the winery's flagship wine. A magnificent white wine of limited production, it is made exclusively with the fruits from the 6 hectares of his own vineyards, located in the best area of the D.O. Ribeiro.
