Professional career
The strength of brands like Contino cannot be understood without the work of technical directors like Jesús de Madrazo. An enologist working behind the scenes, he has been deeply rooted in the principles of CVNE since he began his professional career in 1995 as head of the quality control department for cork purchasing and harvests. Before that, in 1984 and 1988, he had already done internships at the Rioja-based house. In fact, his extensive knowledge of Contino's vineyard began during other harvest internships, when he participated in the grape collection for the 1992 and 1993 vintages. After his time at CVNE, he was appointed technical director at Viñedos del Contino in April 1999.
