Javier Ochoa Martínez

Family
His family has been connected to the world of wine since at least the mid-14th century.
Professional career
Javier Ochoa Martínez took over the family business that his father Adriano had revived and established. After studying oenology, he joined the winery, focusing it exclusively on bottled wine and enhancing the modernization of winemaking techniques. Additionally, he built a new facility on the outskirts of Olite, which over time became the current location of Bodegas Ochoa. In 1980, he was hired by the Government of Navarra to promote the wine of the Comunidad Foral and became the head of oenology at the Navarra Viticulture and Oenology Station, EVENA. Javier Ochoa worked on this project until 1992, the year he decided to return to his winery. Starting in 1994, he began working on R&D (Research and Development), an activity that continues to this day and has become one of the hallmarks of Ochoa.
