Description of their own wines
Comenge is made from the 15 plots owned by the winery in the municipalities of Curiel de Duero and Pesquera -the heart of Ribera del Duero-, all cultivated under the good practices of organic viticulture. The heterogeneity of soils and orientations where our vineyards are located allows the wine to reflect the unique character of each vintage.
Professional career
Comenge Winery was established in 1999, the year in which Jaime Comenge meticulously selected the soils to begin planting 12 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Pesquera de Duero and Curiel de Duero. In 2001, an additional 16 hectares were acquired in Curiel. The project gradually grew, incorporating efforts from new investors, reaching the current 34 hectares of vineyards. The winery works with a small production of grapes to craft an authentic estate wine. The current production capacity is around 140,000 bottles, which marks the production limit.
