Professional career
In 1924, a young entrepreneur named Diego Zamora Conesa became the manager of a small distillery in Cartagena. With the collaboration of his brother Ángel Zamora Conesa and his brother-in-law Emilio Restoy Godoy, he founded a company that, years later, would become the current Diego Zamora, S.A. In 1999, the wine division of Diego Zamora began with the acquisition of Bodegas Ramón Bilbao in Rioja, followed in 2003 by the purchase of Mar de Frades in Rías Baixas and the production of the first vintage of Cruz de Alba in Ribera del Duero that same year. In 2006, a winery in Albacete was also incorporated for the production of Volteo, a range of Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla aimed at export markets.
