Gonzalo Celayeta
Description of their own wines
Gonzalo Celayeta is one of the most renowned winemakers in Navarra and a key figure in the revival of Garnacha in the San Martín de Unx area. Born in Olite and trained at the Navarra Institute of Viticulture and Oenology (EVENA), he began his own project in 2004, focusing on small-scale production and the most authentic expression of the vineyard. Since 2006, he has been technical director and winemaker at Bodegas San Martín, where he has championed the recovery of traditional varieties and the production of wines with a strong sense of place. His philosophy is based on respect for the vineyard, minimal-intervention winemaking and the pursuit of wines that faithfully reflect the landscape and character of Navarra's Baja Montaña.
