Professional career
Félix Lorenzo Cachazo always worked in the family winery, which primarily produced wines to sell in bulk to the villages in the area. The old winery was located in the center of the village, dug underground and dating back to the 18th century. A deep lover of the Castilian countryside and a defender of the verdejo grape due to tradition and roots, Félix Lorenzo Cachazo was always aware of the potential of this variety. For this reason, he was part of the group of only 8 winemakers who, in 1980, decided to establish the D.O. Rueda and, above all, revolutionize the wines historically produced in this area (the so-called "soleras," a blend of verdejo and palomino fino with oxidative aging in the sun) into the modern verdejos that are so well-known today.
