Bodegas Yllera was founded in the early 1970s. Established by Pepe and Jesús Yllera, the fifth generation of a lineage of Castilian winemakers known in the region as “los Curros.” They created the first “modern” verdejos from Rueda and were also visionaries who, in the early 1980s, recognized the great potential of Ribera del Duero. Thus, in 1986, they began producing wines in this red wine region, alongside the winemaker Ramón Martínez, after acquiring a winery in Boada de Roa.
In 2014, the winery passed into the hands of the sixth generation of the Yllera family, led by Marcos and Carlos Yllera.
