Professional career
Five generations of vine growers and winemakers in Laguardia, Álava, are behind Artadi. In 1992, Juan Carlos López de Lacalle took the helm of the Artadi project. Currently, his son Carlos—the fifth generation of this winemaking lineage—leads the company, recently recognized as “Bodeguero Revelación de La Rioja’’ by expert Tim Atkin in his Rioja Special Report 2025.
