He began his professional career at El Coto de Rioja wineries and also contributed to defining the project and wines of Finca La Emperatriz in the DOCa Rioja from its inception. His professional journey has also led him to practice oenology and management, as well as technical consultancy in Oenology and Viticulture, for significant projects in different appellations such as Rioja, Ribera del Duero, and Arlanza, among other areas.
David González is also a professor of oenology in various postgraduate master's programs. He is a member of the Board of the Rioja Oenologists Association and a member of the Agrupación Riojana para el Progreso de la Viticultura (ARPROVI). Together with his partner and professional tandem, Juan Antonio Leza, as well as Luis Martín and Becquer Prieto, they lead the Sabinares y Viñas project in the DO Arlanza. David González's career has also been closely tied for nearly ten years to the centenary winery Gómez Cruzado in the Barrio de la Estación in Haro. Alongside Juan Antonio Leza, also a viticulturist and oenologist, they became involved with the project in 2008 as vineyard consultants and gradually redefined the wines of this historic house and the overall business project. In 2023, he stepped down from the management of Gómez Cruzado.
