The businessman Alfonso Cortina, former president of Repsol, began his winemaking project in Retuerta del Bullaque in 1999. With the help of his friend and pioneer of great wines in the region, Carlos Falcó, Marqués de Griñón, Alfonso planted a 24-hectare vineyard with the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and the white Viognier.
After the passing of Alfonso Cortina in 2020, the winery has been inherited by his sons Carlos and Felipe Cortina Lapique, who continue their father's legacy, maintaining the same values: a commitment to producing wines with their own personality and capable of conveying the 'terroir' of a unique and very special region.
