Professional career
He began his career in a wine consultancy in Madrid in 1985. Later, he worked with Terras Gauda, as an advisor for the Provincial Council of Vizcaya in winemaking and collaborating with Itsasmendi. Since the year 2000, he has been leading the winemaking at Castillo de Cuzcurrita.
