Description of their own wines
Truth. We are located in an area with a vast history surrounding wine. We have more than 250 rock-hewn wine presses believed to be pre-Roman, and numerous historical references from various eras that highlight the quality of mountain wines. With these premises, we strive to create wines that respect the terroir and our ancestors.
Professional career
Self-taught and connected to the hospitality industry since his birth in 1976 (the family restaurant opened in 1974). Agustín Maillo's grandfather already made wine for the restaurant, and he wanted to take it a step further, producing wine from a more professional perspective without losing the spirit of the grape varieties and the region. In fact, his first wine was created without the intention of pursuing it professionally: he wanted to make a wine for his restaurant and give it its own character. This is how La Zorra 2010 came to be, made in the rented facilities of Bodegas Valdeáguila. When this winery went bankrupt, he decided to establish his own winery. In 2012, Vinos La Zorra was born, and the first wines were produced on the property.
