His father, Agustín Huneeus, was one of the great pioneers in the discovery of the Chilean Casablanca Valley and its suitability for cultivating predominantly white varieties.

We developed Veramonte ten years ago, and it has become one of the most important wineries with appellation in the country. Chile and the Casablanca Valley will continue to be powerful producers of quality wine.
Professional career
In 1989, he began his career in the wine industry at the family-owned Franciscan Estate vineyard, after studying at the University of California, Berkeley. He then returned to Chile for two years, where he was instrumental in the development of the Caliterra and Errazuriz vineyards. Agustín F. returned to the USA to pursue an MBA at Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He later moved to San Francisco, where he became a partner at the brand consulting firm Hambrecht & Quist, acquiring solid knowledge and experience in the field of mass consumer products. In 1996, he returned to work at Franciscan Estates, where he led the marketing and sales area and launched the Veramonte brand to the world. In 2004, he joined the family business dedicated to managing the Veramonte, Quintessa, and Faust brands.
