Chianti

The D.O.C.G. Chianti encompasses one of the most prestigious and well-known Italian wines, both in the transalpine country and the rest of the world. This Tuscan wine is produced in the province of Siena, specifically in the hills of the villages of Radda in Chianti, Castellina in Chianti, and Gaiole in Chianti, and since 1932, its production has extended to the provinces of Arezzo, Florence, Pisa, Pistoia, and Prato.

Currently, the D.O.C.G. Chianti is divided into eight distinct subzones: Classico, Colli Aretini, Colli Fiorentini, Colli Senesi, Colline Pisane, Montalbano, Montespertoli, and Rufina. The dominant grape of the region is the red sangiovese variety, characterized by its plum notes and slight acidity.
