The clusters are large and compact, with medium-sized spherical grapes of bluish garnet color. The variety has good acidity, provides cardinal red hues with violet touches, aromas of blue flowers, and vegetal notes. It is used to produce delicate rosé wines and sparkling rosés (the latter benefit from the addition of sugar during production, resulting in cavas without the bitter notes typical of the variety's vegetal character).
