Saint Laurent

The St. Laurent plant has a semi-upright growth habit and is medium-sized. The clusters are compact and short, growing one to two per shoot. The berry is also medium-sized and has a color ranging between blue and black, although the grape has low pigmentation. This grape variety buds early and flowers slightly late. The acidity of its must is low and it has a certain sweetness. The red wines made with this grape are characterized by aromas of black cherries and wild berries.
Weaknesses
It is very resistant to phylloxera (gall-forming) and tolerates iron chlorosis quite well. On the other hand, it is very vulnerable to downy mildew (caused by Plasmopara), botrytis, powdery mildew, and other types of phylloxera.
