Viyuela Reserva 2020 is a single-varietal Tempranillo endorsed by a vintage classified as Excellent in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. The vineyards are located in Boada de Roa (Burgos), in the heart of Ribera del Duero, with an average age of 50 years, and the grapes are hand-harvested. With meticulous winemaking, it underwent 24 months of aging in French oak barrels.
The D.O. Ribera del Duero is one of the red wine regions with the greatest global projection. With forty years of history (founded in 1982), it experienced its first golden age in the 1990s, with a surge of projects that solidified its prestige. Bodegas Viyuela belongs to the second wave that brought fresh air to the region in the 21st century. A winery founded by José Ángel González Viyuela, a native of the Burgos town of Boada de Roa and a member of a family of winegrowers.
The winery is focused on excellence and was recognized in 2019 as the best winery of the D.O. Ribera del Duero by Mundus Vini. In its wines, the concentration of Tempranillo is shaped to offer freshness, elegance, and a perfect balance between fruit and oak.

Bodegas Viyuela was founded by José Ángel González Viyuela, a native of Boada de Roa (Burgos) and a member of a family linked for generations to vine cultivation, mainly in the municipality of Pedrosa. After years dedicated to viticulture, in 2003 José Ángel González Viyuela decided to undertake a sophisticated project focused on quality within the framework of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. He currently remains at the helm of Bodegas Viyuela as President, while his daughter, Laura González Sainz, serves as General Manager.
Bodegas Viyuela relies on 23 hectares of its own vineyard of the tempranillo variety -and 10 additional controlled hectares- to produce its two ranges: the Classic line (Viyuela Barrica, Viyuela Crianza, and Viyuela Reserva) and the Signature line (Viyuela 3+3, Viyuela 10, and Viyuela Xº Aniversario). Since its market launch, Bodegas Viyuela wines have enjoyed prestige and acceptance, earning numerous awards and medals, both nationally and internationally.
