Founded in 2001 and recognized by Robert Parker for the excellent value of its wines, MAN Family Wines aims to maintain its original spirit of artisanal winemakers: doing things simply and without complications, letting the grapes speak for themselves. Its name (M.A.N.) is an acronym of the wives of the three founders: Marie, Annette, and Nicky.
The winery is located in the Agter-Paarl subregion of the Western Cape province, approximately 60 km northeast of Cape Town and north of Stellenbosch.
Most of MAN Family Wines' vineyards are dry-farmed (without irrigation), following the Agter-Paarl tradition. With dry farming, the roots grow deeper in search of water and nutrients. This increased contact with the soil results in grapes with an intense flavor. On the other hand, the winery has the Integrated Wine Production (IPW) certification, reflecting its commitment to sustainability.
