Viña Cumbrero Reserva 2015 shows the classic and distinctive style of Rioja. A single-varietal Tempranillo born in Rioja Alta that showcases the perfect combination of the latest winemaking technology and a careful selection of raw materials. After its malolactic fermentation in cement tanks, it underwent mixed aging in French and American oak barrels, which contributed pleasant aromas of spices and underbrush to the ensemble. A red wine ideal for pairing with stews and all kinds of meat.

Cherry red color, clean and bright. Medium layer.
Powerful and straightforward nose. Its spicy notes, underbrush, and clove stand out. Present background of compote.
On the palate, it is lively, with notes of vanilla, good acidity, and tamed and expressive tannins. Long aftertaste with an elegant finish of good wood.
Bodegas Montecillo was founded in 1870 by Celestino Navajas Matute, being the oldest winery in the municipality of Fuenmayor and the third oldest winery of the D.O.Ca. Rioja. Since 1973, Montecillo has belonged to the Osborne Family, and today it has become one of the benchmarks for long-aged wines. It produces the Clásica range (Crianza, Reserva, Gran Reserva, a white and a rosé), signature wines, and the Viña Monty range, which represents the most avant-garde winemaking trend of the centenary winery, committed to traditional production with a renewed approach.
Bodegas Montecillo has underground cellars that house vintages dating back to 1926, as well as an impressive manual bottle rack.
