We are renewing the vintage of this exclusive Ribera del Duero with the seal of a winery whose work we love: Valdemar. The excellent relationship we have with its creators, Jesús and Ana Martínez Bujanda, has allowed us to collaborate once again over this Valdemacuco Selección 2022. All the know-how of a veteran and renowned winemaking saga in a very expressive and balanced 'Ribera', dominated by fruity notes and with a hint of sweetness that makes it very pleasant.

Fincas Valdemacuco is the project of our friends Jesús and Ana Martínez Bujanda (Bodegas Valdemar) in the Ribera del Duero region of Burgos. This is where Valdemacuco Selección 2022 is born, a single varietal Tempranillo with brief ageing in oak barrels (3 months). A 'Ribera' from head to toe, but with Valdemar DNA, or in other words, with the elegance that is the hallmark of the company. Produced exclusively for Vinoseleccion.
In 1985 Jesús Martínez Bujanda, a member of one of the most historic families in the sector, embarked on a new stage that turned Bodegas Valdemar into one of the most innovative firms of the time: he launched wines with more intensity and colour than the classic Rioja wines, moving fully into the modern world. Located in Oyón (Rioja Alavesa), Valdemar has created a wide range of wines with quality, regularity and widespread fame. The winery is also renowned for its expertise in long ageing.

Since the last decade, Jesús and his daughter Ana have been applying everything they have learnt over generations to their project in Ribera del Duero: Fincas Valdemacuco, where they make interesting red wines from vineyards located in the area of Nava de Roa (Burgos).

Due to its organoleptic characteristics, Valdemacuco Selección 2022 will combine well with dishes like baked rice, mushroom risotto or beef tenderloin.
Founded in 1889, Valdemar is one of the oldest and most important wineries in Spain, a driving force behind the Rioja Alavesa we know today and revolutionary in its concepts. A house currently led by the fifth generation of the Martínez Bujanda family, whose success lies in the perfect combination of historical expertise blended with constant research to achieve the highest quality.
In 1985, Jesús Martínez Bujanda began a new chapter that transformed Valdemar into one of the most innovative wineries of the time: he launched wines onto the market with more intensity and color than the classic Riojas, fully embracing modernity. Additionally, this winery has been a pioneer in the use of temperature control during production and in the fermentation of Viura whites in wood.
Valdemar has developed a wide range of high-quality wines, known for their consistency and great distribution. These wines originate from an extensive estate-owned vineyard: 275 hectares; and are characterized by their long and magnificent aging processes.
