Compañía de Viñedos Iberian already produced wine in Ribera del Duero, Priorat and Toro. And with this white it’s now added the D.O. Rueda to this list. Valdejaros 2022 is a single-varietal wine made from Verdejo grapes grown on very old gobelet-trained vines near the river Duero, in alluvial and stony soils with a high calcium and magnesium content that imbue it with a distinctive personality.

: Valdejaros 2022 comes from a selection of very old gobelet-trained Verdejo vines between 40 and 120 years old. The vines, located near the river Duero, grow on alluvial and stony terraces with a high calcium and magnesium content. 2022 was a warm, dry year that was conducive to grapes and wines of excellent quality.
The grapes were harvested at night, when the temperature dips in the area, to minimise possible oxidation and preserve and enhance the organoleptic properties of the grapes and achieve a perfect balance between alcoholic strength and acidity. At the winery they were gently pressed and fermented at between 15 and 17º C. This white wine was then left to mature on the fine lees to gain fullness and aromatic complexity.
Compañía de Viñedos Iberian is one of the most powerful winegrowing groups in Spain, with wineries in different regions. In Ribera del Duero it owns Viñas del Jaro (2000), which is based in one of the best parts of the Denominación: Pesquera de Duero. Other firms are Cal Grau (D.O.Ca. Priorat) and Viñedos del Yaso (D.O. Toro). Its latest addition is in the D.O. Rueda.
In this region renowned for its whites it works with vines that are rented and managed by the group`s technical team. The grapes are processed at a local collaborating winery that’s equipped with the latest technology to ensure compliance with the company’s high quality standards.
Valdejaros 2022 (D.O. Rueda) is ideal with mariner’s-style clams or grilled octopus.
Viñas del Jaro was the first winery founded by the Osborne-Osborne family. For this, they chose an extraordinary estate in Pesquera del Duero – one of the most privileged areas of Ribera del Duero – surrounded by a forest of century-old holm oaks called Jaro, which gives the winery its name. The El Quiñón estate spans 108 hectares, with vineyards divided into plots according to their soil, orientation, and expression.
The wines produced by Viñas del Jaro are among the most outstanding in the entire D.O. Ribera del Duero. One only needs to look at the tremendous success with critics and the public achieved by brands like Chafandín and Jaros, not to mention the exclusive Jaro by Manolo Santana, born from the friendship between the Osborne-Osborne family and the legendary Madrid-born tennis player.
Since the 2005 vintage, Viñas del Jaro has also been producing wines in the D.O. Toro, where they own 15 hectares of tinta de toro vineyards at the Finca Yaso.
