General Information

Supersónico 2023 is born from vines over 80 years old located in the Las Frías area, in the Sierra del Jalón, at an altitude of 1030 meters, with a northern orientation. These extreme conditions, along with the continental climate and the influence of the cierzo, provide a slow ripening of the fruits, preserving acidity and enhancing floral and herbal aromas. The poor and stony soils contribute minerality and tension, resulting in a fresh and delicate garnacha, complemented by a touch of macabeo that adds subtlety to the ensemble.

The winemaking process is carried out with whole clusters, fermented in oak vats with native yeasts, which bring complexity and authenticity. After fermentation, the wine rests for 12 months in large 2500-liter foudres and used barrels, gaining volume and elegance without losing freshness. This traditional method, combined with minimal intervention, allows Supersónico to retain its pure and expressive character.

Bodegas Frontonio is a project that champions garnacha as Aragonese heritage. Its philosophy is based on minimal intervention, gravity-fed winemaking, and the use of noble materials such as wood and cement, to create wines that express the authenticity of the landscape and local tradition.

Creators' opinion

The winery

Bodegas Frontonio is a winery located in the Aragón region, founded with the aim of recovering historic vineyards and crafting distinctive wines. Established by Fernando Mora MW, Mario López and Francisco Latasa, the winery is characterised by its artisanal philosophy and respect for the terroir.

Its vineyards are located around Valdejalón, at altitudes ranging from 350 to 700 metres, bringing freshness and complexity to the wines. The soils are mainly limestone and stony, ideal for varieties such as garnacha, macabeo and other native grapes. The climate is continental with Mediterranean influence, marked by cold winters and warm summers, favouring balanced ripening.

The winery features facilities that combine tradition and modernity, including concrete tanks, large oak casks and barrels for ageing. Its winemaking methods are based on minimal intervention, spontaneous fermentations and respect for the natural expression of the grapes.
