Solar de Becquer Gran Reserva 2015 is the highest expression of elegance and tradition from Bodegas Escudero, a family-run firm that's been cultivating vineyards for over four generations on the historic Cuesta la Reina estate located on the slopes of Monte Yerga in Rioja Oriental.
This vintage, rated Excellent, has been made exclusively for Vinoselección members, so this a unique opportunity to enjoy a Rioja Gran Reserva with character and authenticity. It’s a wine that reflects the land, the weather conditions and the know-how of a family that's made tradition an art form.
The wine is made from a classic local blend of Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Garnacha grapes from old vineyards cultivated at high altitudes. After the grapes were harvested by hand and carefully sorted, the wine was fermented with native yeasts and underwent a long maceration to extract its full potential. It was then aged for 15 months in French oak barrels. Finally, it was left to rest in the bottle for more than three years before being released onto the market, ensuring perfect maturity.
Solar de Becquer Gran Reserva 2015 is much more than a wine: It's an experience that connects with the essence of Rioja and the pleasure of sharing something authentic. It’s a red that’s perfect with game dishes, traditional stews, red meats and mature cheeses, and makes an excellent gift or addition to your personal wine collection.

The Escudero family spans four generations of winemakers and viticulturists, showcasing to the world the unique character and excellent quality of Rioja wines. In 1852, with the winery located in Grávalos—a village with a rich winemaking tradition nestled at the foothills of the Sierra de la Demanda—the Escudero family embarked on a journey of quality that has positioned them, more than a century and a half later, as a clear Rioja benchmark.
Amador Escudero leads the winery, which is constantly engaged in research projects. It also boasts an excellent viticultural heritage of around 150 hectares, with an average vine age of 50 years.
The Escudero family is currently one of the main cava producers in Rioja (they have been producing cava since 1958). They have also sought new places to apply their winemaking philosophy, expanding their activity to the Rioja-based Bodegas Valsacro, Cavas Escudero, and Bodegas Logos in the nearby D.O. Navarra.
