Despite not being part of any designation of origin, the meticulous production of Sitta Finca El Molinero 2018 and the high quality of the raw materials used make it an exceptional wine, the top red of Attis Bodega y Viñedos, a winery owned by the brothers Robustiano and Baldomero Fariña.
Its origin lies in the El Molino estate, a plot of old vineyard named in homage to the family’s grandfather and great-grandfather, who were millers by trade. On its granitic and sandy-clay soils, at an altitude of 100 meters above sea level, vines of almost forgotten and nearly extinct native red varieties, such as caíño tinto, pedral, and espadeiro, are trellised and intermingled, just as was done in the past. A selection of their best fruits forms this splendid coupage, which underwent 12 months of aging in French oak barrels.
Sitta Finca El Molinero 2018 brings together in a bottle all the heritage and family tradition of the Fariñas, with the enological mastery of the technical director of Attis Bodega y Viñedos, the Frenchman Jean François Hébrand, resulting in a wine full of ripe fruit, both sweet and fresh, with very good acidity, ideal to enjoy on its own or paired with white meats, oily fish, pâtés, and foies.
On the nose, it appears fresh and very fine. Aromas of red fruit (wild strawberry, redcurrant).
Fine and silky on the palate, standing out for its freshness, elegance, and breadth.
