General Information

Séptima Malbec 2023 is a young single-varietal wine from the vineyards of Bodegas Séptima (Raventós-Codorníu group) in the Mendoza region of Luján de Cuyo. A friendly red, full of freshness and with a surprising complexity achieved thanks to the measured cultivation and minimally interventionist production process, focused on preserving the typicity of the Argentine terroir. The result is a 100% malbec that harmoniously combines the historical heritage, innovation, and oenological excellence of the Andean firm.

The precision agriculture practiced by Séptima in the Agrelo vineyard, in Luján de Cuyo, makes it possible to produce varietal wines capable of conveying the maximum expression of the terroir. With very good permeability and a scarcity of organic matter, the soil in the area is zero tillage and has good depth.

The vinification of Séptima Malbec began with the maceration of the musts for 3-4 days at low temperature to achieve a good extraction of aromas and color. Fermentation occurred at 25 ºC and lasted for 5 days, giving way to natural malolactic fermentation. 90% of the wine obtained remained for 8 months in stainless steel tanks and the remaining 10% was aged in new French and American oak barrels before bottling and commercialization.

Tasting notes

In appearance, Séptima Malbec displays a bright, intense reddish-violet color.

A very fruity nose where aromas of cherry, blackberry, and plum stand out, evolving into notes of jam and honeyed with subtle hints of walnuts and candied almonds.

Friendly and round on the palate, it combines remarkable freshness and complexity.
