La Segreta Bianco 2024 comes from the historic vineyards that the Planeta family has cultivated for centuries in Menfi, Sicily. These plots, managed under sustainable and organic farming criteria, benefit from the Mediterranean climate and varied soils that provide the grapes with great complexity. The marine influence and constant breezes help maintain freshness and varietal typicity.
The winemaking process begins with manual harvesting and transportation in small carts to preserve the integrity of the fruit. Once at the winery, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed before undergoing static cold settling for 36 hours. The clean must ferments slowly at a low temperature (15–16 °C) for 10–12 days in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine remains on its fine lees with weekly stirring, which enhances aromas and adds volume on the palate.

La Segreta Bianco is a pale yellow wine with sea green reflections. Aromas of white peach, apricot, Sicilian citrus, melon, tropical fruits, and chestnut honey, with herbal notes. Fresh and balanced on the palate, with excellent persistence and a saline finish that invites continued drinking.

Planeta is perhaps the finest winery in Sicily and one of the most famous family-owned wineries in the world. Their vineyards are not located in a single region but are spread across the entire island, allowing them to produce wines with various D.O.C and D.O.C.G. (controlled and controlled guaranteed designations of origin, according to the Italian geographical indication system).
The Planeta family home and the main winery are located in Dispensa, in the northwest of the island. Here, they produce their La Segretta brand and top wines based on Merlot, Syrah, and Burdese.
