Scala Dei Pla Dels Àngels 2023 is a single-variety rosé wine made from Garnacha, born in the municipality of La Morera Del Montsant, in Tarragona (D.O.Q Priorat), from vineyards of different ages, facing north and east, planted at an altitude of 500-600 meters on clay soils. This type of soil is key to preserving the acidity of the grapes and ensuring their freshness at the time of harvest.
For the production of Scala Dei Pla Dels Àngels, the winery, part of the Raventós Codorníu group, focused on preserving the varietal qualities to the maximum. The grapes, carefully selected, were cooled upon arrival at the winery to 2 ºC to maintain their aromatic expression. After destemming and a 3-hour maceration with the skins, the bleeding process of the must was carried out, resulting in its characteristic pale rosé color. After settling, the must fermented as if it were a white wine, and the resulting wine was refined for four months in stainless steel tanks until bottling.
Scala Dei is the oldest winery in the Priorat, with roots dating back to 1163, when Carthusian monks began making wine in this region. Today, the winery maintains that artisanal spirit, blending tradition and modernity to create wines that are a true expression of the landscape. Pla Dels Àngels is the winery's first rosé and represents the chameleon-like capacity of Garnacha, as in this rosé, it is shown to be subtle, fresh, and a burst of fruit. In the words of the winery itself: “delicate and refined, the other side of Garnacha Negra in Scala Dei.”

Tasting notes
In appearance, Scala Dei Pla Dels Àngels displays a very pale pink color, with bluish reflections on the rim. Attractive and elegant.
On the nose, subtle aromas of red fruit (strawberry) stand out, with citrus notes that bring freshness.
It offers an explosion of freshness on the palate, with flavors of strawberry, grapefruit, and a hint of aniseed. A refreshing mouthfeel and an enveloping finish that invites you to keep drinking.
