General Information

Rated as Vino de Paraje de Val de Paxariñas by the Regulatory Council of D.O. Bierzo, the white wine Sangarida La Guiana 2021 is one of the most unique wines from the Leonese region of Cacabelos. The La Tarea plot, where it originates, is located at an altitude of 600 meters and is planted exclusively with godello vines that are over 20 years old. For the production of this ‘single-vineyard wine,’ the harvest is carried out manually in 15 kg boxes. After a meticulous selection of grape clusters, the must undergoes a natural fermentation, spontaneously, in new and semi-new French oak and acacia barrels with a capacity of 228 and 500L, where the resulting wine ages for 12 months on its fine lees.

The magnificent qualities of Sangarida La Guiana 2021 (D.O. Bierzo) allow for good evolution in the bottle, making it a wine with great aging potential. An elegant and fragrant godello, perfect for pairing with fish stews, white meats, or creamy cheeses.

With a long tradition in the D.O. Rías Baixas, Attis Bodegas y Viñedos, led by the Fariña brothers, began a project in the D.O. Bierzo in 2019 to pay tribute to the origins of the winemakers' mother. Thus, the Sangarida wine range was born, a bold project that strives for the utmost expressiveness of authentic varieties, with a modern and groundbreaking image that pays homage to the mythological Greek love story between Attis and Sangarida.

Tasting notes

In appearance, it shows a beautiful intense yellow color.

With a very intense and complex nose, it highlights aromas of white fruits, followed by fine notes of wood and spices over a subtle mineral background.

Its palate is dense, unctuous, and with a very balanced acidity. Long finish.

The winery

In the heart of the Salnés Valley, specifically in the municipality of Meaño, lies Attis Bodega y Viñedos, a family-owned winery that produces authentic, artisanal, and Atlantic wines.

All the winery's creations are made from native varieties of the D.O. Rías Baixas, crafted with the utmost care and respect for the environment and the vines, from cultivation to vinification, including the harvest. The production is entirely artisanal, resulting in wines with a distinct Atlantic character and high salinity, a hallmark of this subzone of the Salnés Valley.
