Climate en D.O.Ca. Rioja:
The climate varies totally from one subzone to another. For example, whereas Rioja Alta (26,786 hectares) receives Atlantic influence, Rioja Alavesa (12,934 hectares) has a combination of Atlantic and Mediterranean influence and Rioja Baja (23,873 hectares) enjoys a fully Mediterranean climate. The confluence of both climates results in mild temperatures and an annual rainfall level of just over 400 litres per square metre.
