Quiñón de Valmira 2018 is a true object of desire signed by the renowned Álvaro Palacios. The work of the last 10 years in his native Rioja, grafting clones of old garnachas, materialized in a pure and fragrant red wine, which has as its exclusive origin a single three-hectare vineyard in the Quiñón de Valmira area, on Monte Yerga.

Quiñón de Valmira 2018 (D.O.Ca.Rioja) is one of the great wines by Álvaro Palacios, a red wine from a single small plot with 30-year-old vines, cultivated organically. The first vintage of this single-varietal Garnacha, the 2015, debuted with great acclaim, receiving a warm welcome with a score of 97 points out of 100 in The Wine Advocate, the prestigious publication edited by Robert Parker.
The winemaking process followed by Bodegas Palacios Remondo to produce Quiñón de Valmira 2018 was distinguished by its meticulousness. After manual harvesting and a strict selection of the grapes, which were destemmed and crushed, alcoholic fermentation began in wooden vats with daily punch-downs and in the presence of native yeasts. Maceration lasted for 39 days, followed by malolactic fermentation, which occurred spontaneously in barrels. The result is a magnificent red wine that will benefit from at least 5 years of bottle aging for optimal enjoyment.
