General Information

Proventus 2020 es fruto de uno de los proyectos más interesantes que han surgido en Ribera del Duero en las últimas décadas: Bodega Tr3smano - Lagar de Proventus. Sus artífices son nada menos que la familia Ruiz (propietaria de la importadora mexicana La Europea) y su asociado Antonio Sierra, Fernando Remírez de Ganuza (uno de los pocos bodegueros españoles que han logrado 100 puntos Parker) y Pedro Aibar, conocido por su excelente trabajo en Viñas del Vero y El Coto de Rioja.

Con semejante elenco de estrellas vinícolas al frente es inevitable que estemos ante un vino espectacular. Proventus 2020 está elaborado al cien por cien con uvas de tempranillo procedentes de viñedos viejos, tiene una crianza de 12 meses en barricas de roble francés de dos años. Un vino de la D.O. Ribera del Duero ideal para acompañar carnes rojas a la plancha o a la parrilla, como un solomillo de añojo a la brasa con salteado de boletus, o bien platos de caza como un pichón estofado con salsa de moras.

Tasting notes

Intenso color rojo cereza picota, bien cubierto de capa.

En nariz se muestra complejo, concentrado y muy elegante; el recorrido aromático comienza por nítidas notas de frutos rojos y sutiles apuntes de maderas nobles (cedro) complementadas por suaves fondos ahumados y especiados (pimienta).

En boca es sabroso, sedoso y con una buena estructura; el paso de boca es equilibrado y con unos excelentes taninos profundos y fundidos en el conjunto que le dotan de unas sensaciones táctiles de gran amplitud y volumen. Excelente balance gustativo entre las notas aportadas por la crianza en barrica y los matices de fruta. Compleja vía retronasal con notas ahumadas, tostadas y especiadas. Buena acidez y persistencia.

As its name suggests, Tr3smano is a winery located in the so-called “Golden Mile” of Ribera del Duero, born from the association of three great professionals of the wine scene: José Ramón Ruiz, general director of La Europea, a leading company in the import and distribution of wines in Mexico; Fernando Remírez de Ganuza, one of Spain's most important winemakers; and the prestigious enologist Pedro Aibar, a driving force behind the D.O. Somontano and a key figure in the success of renowned wineries such as Viñas del Vero, Blecua, El Coto, or his family winery Pagos del Moncayo.

With the aim of finding old vineyards to produce an exceptional red wine from their fruit, the joint venture began its journey in 2013 in Peñafiel, “a trasmano” (off the beaten path) from the road connecting this town with its neighbor Quintanilla de Onésimo. The winery's facilities, a building integrated into the landscape and designed by the architectural studio Konkrit Blu, are located near the famous Vaccaei archaeological site of Pintia, where, additionally, there is an ancient winepress used traditionally for grape treading on this estate as early as the 18th century.

Tr3smano has 25 hectares of its own vineyards, with very low yields and planted with tempranillo, as well as 35 more hectares of controlled vineyards. All work is done manually, with the utmost care to preserve the quality of the grapes. In the winery, the brand advocates for a wise combination of tradition and a personal interpretation of new enology techniques, with no fixed rules, both in terms of winemaking and aging, guided solely by the characteristics of each vintage and the potential of the grapes. The result is unique wines, marked by excellence, where fruit, wood, and time merge in perfect balance.
