General Information

Procura Na Ânfora 2022 is a white wine from Alentejo that pays homage to the most ancestral wine-making processes. The selected grapes come from an 85-year-old vineyard, located at an altitude of 700 meters in the Serra de São Mamede. There, various white varieties coexist, scattered and hand-harvested without classification. The selection of bunches is done at the entrance of the winery just before being pressed and decanted, with temperature control. These preliminary steps are absolutely necessary to preserve the entire identity of the vineyard before the wine is vinified and aged for a total of 6 months in red clay amphorae. In the purest traditional Alentejo style, with the benefits of new production technologies. The winemaker Susana Esteban signs a fresh and citrusy white, with exquisite aromas of apple and white flowers, a pleasant wine designed for enjoyment.

In just a decade, Susana Esteban has become a renowned winemaker and producer in the neighboring country of Portugal. Her work philosophy, the search for the best vineyards, respect for the terroir, and a daring labeling for the accustomed area have made her a benchmark of quality and commitment to the character of Alentejo wines, adapted to new market tastes.

Procura Na Ânfora Blanco 2022 (Vinho Regional Alentejano) is a perfect wine to accompany starters, creamy cheeses, seafood rice dishes, or grilled fish.

Tasting notes

To the eye, Procura Na Ânfora displays a beautiful, very pale golden color. Clean and bright.

The nose captivates with its exuberant notes of fresh white fruits, white flowers, and marked citrus and Mediterranean scrubland aromas.

The palate is fresh and clean. With a broad finish where lemon notes intensify.

The winery

Born in Tuy (Pontevedra), Susana Esteban holds a degree in Chemistry from the University of Santiago de Compostela and a master's degree in Enology from the University of La Rioja. She began working as an enologist at Quinta do Côtto (Douro) in 1999, and in 2002 she moved to Quinta do Crasto, where she worked as an enologist until 2007.

A consultant for various wineries in Alentejo (Portugal), at the end of 2009 Susana decided to embark on her personal project, with the determination to produce wines full of character and with a unique style slightly removed from the traditional techniques of Alentejo. In 2011, she discovered two small vineyards that laid the foundation for her two wines: In Portalegre, she found an old mixed plantation of several different varieties, with very low yields, providing an astonishing complexity and freshness. By blending these two vineyards, she managed to create "Procura."

Susana Esteban has joined forces with her good friend and fellow enologist Sandra Tavares to craft wines together. The first wine that emerged from the Esteban&Tavares partnership was the red Crochet, and more recently, in 2014, they launched Tricot, made in Susana Esteban's winery in Alentejo.
