The Real Sitio de Ventosilla, recognised as an agricultural and hunting estate in Gumiel de Mercado in 1503, is the centre of operations of Pradorey, one of the most enterprising wineries with the largest viticultural assets in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. The estate spans an area of 3,000 hectares, of which 520 hectares are vineyards, divided into ten plots. These plots produced Pradorey Viñedos Propios 2022, a red made from a combination of the Tempranillo (86%), Cabernet Sauvignon (9%) and Merlot (5%) varieties. The grapes were harvested by hand and the wine was aged for 10 months in American and Central European oak barrels.
Bodega y Viñedos Pradorey, equipped with the latest winemaking technology, has been growing unstoppably since it was founded back in 1996. Now one of the most powerful wineries in the whole of the Ribera del Duero region, this firm owned by the Cremades family has improved its wines year after year thanks in part to the careful business plan they embarked on when they planted their first vineyards in 1989. Today the estate is an example of sustainability and environmental care.
Pradorey Viñedos Propios 2022 (D.O. Ribera del Duero) is perfect with lamb chops.
Bodegas y Viñedos Pradorey has experienced unstoppable growth since its foundation in 1996. Established as one of the most powerful wineries in the entire Ribera del Duero, the Cremades family’s firm can also boast of having improved its productions vintage after vintage, thanks, in large part, to careful business planning that began when they planted their first vineyards in 1989.
Pradorey (D.O. Ribera del Duero) is an example of sustainability and environmental care. Of the 3,000 hectares that make up the Real Sitio de la Ventosilla estate, 520 –divided into 8 plots– are dedicated to vine cultivation. Javier Cremades, its founder, managed to recover tinta fina (tempranillo) vines over a century old, whose yield, though small, is exquisite and significantly enhances the quality of the winery’s wines.
Since 2007, Pradorey has expanded its scope to the D.O. Rueda, where it built new facilities equipped with the most modern technology. Pradorey’s commitment to innovation is evident in the use of pioneering systems like Boreal, a process for cooling musts with CO2. As for the vineyard, they cultivate both verdejo and sauvignon blanc, with some vines that are up to 100 years old.
