Planeta Rosé 2024 is born in the vineyards of the D.O.C. Sicilia, where the Mediterranean climate and varied soils favor the balanced ripening of the nero d’avola and syrah grapes that make up its blend. The marine influence and constant breezes provide freshness and salinity, while sustainable viticulture ensures the purest expression of the terroir.
The winemaking follows the method of great rosés: after manual harvesting, the grapes are cooled to 15-16 °C and destemmed before a brief maceration of one hour to achieve the perfect tone. The must is cold-settled for 36 hours and ferments slowly at a low temperature (14-16 °C) for 8-10 days in stainless steel tanks. Afterwards, the wine remains on its fine lees with weekly batonnage, which enhances color and aromas and adds volume on the palate.

Planeta rosé is a pearl pink wine, delicate and luminous. Aromas of currants, wild strawberries, and pastries, with hints of plum and pineapple. Smooth on the palate, with a touch of acidity that adds freshness and a pleasant finish that invites you to keep drinking.

Planeta is perhaps the finest winery in Sicily and one of the most famous family-owned wineries in the world. Their vineyards are not located in a single region but are spread across the entire island, allowing them to produce wines with various D.O.C and D.O.C.G. (controlled and controlled guaranteed designations of origin, according to the Italian geographical indication system).
The Planeta family home and the main winery are located in Dispensa, in the northwest of the island. Here, they produce their La Segretta brand and top wines based on Merlot, Syrah, and Burdese. Planeta also produces Moscato di Noto in this area of Syracuse and Cerasolo di Vittoria in the province of Ragusa. In Ulmo, next to Lake Arancio, the winery crafts its renowned barrel-aged Chardonnay, considered one of the best in the world.
