General Information

Moses Nº4 Edition Millésime 2017 is crafted from chardonnay grapes sourced from estate-owned vineyards, organically farmed, located in the prestigious Côte des Blancs, one of the most renowned regions of French Champagne. Its meticulous production is characterized by 3 years of aging on lees, during which 25% of the wine was aged in French oak barrels. The result is a limited and numbered edition of a refined champagne, distinguished by its harmony and sensuality.

The origin of the name Moses Nº4 Edition Millésime 2017 is tied to that of its own winery. Bodegas Habla derived its name from a legend. It is said that the Renaissance artist Michelangelo, after sculpting Moses, was so impressed by the realism of his own work that he turned to it and exclaimed: ‘Speak!’. That spirit of perfection is the same that has guided the Extremaduran house since its foundation in 2001, culminating in the creation of its unique and exclusive Moses, named after the mythical sculpture.

The young history of Bodegas Habla is one of dazzling and unstoppable success. The company, owned by the businessman from Cáceres, Juan Tirado, has managed to win over both the public and critics with its balanced, modern, and daring wines, which always leave a lasting impression. Such is the champagne Moses Nº4 Edition Millésime 2017 that we bring to you. Don’t miss it.

Tasting notes

With a brilliant golden yellow color and a constant stream of very fine bubbles.

Fresh and elegant on the nose, with subtle floral aromas, complex citrus nuances, toasted notes with milky reminiscences, and sophisticated mineral touches.

Smooth entry on the palate, where citrus flavors soon emerge accompanied by delicate and fine bubbles. Later, notes of white fruits and hazelnut appear, culminating in a creamy and magnificent finish with retronasal aromas.

Habla is one of the most advanced wineries in our country, responsible for elevating the wines of Extremadura to the highest level and erasing at a stroke the dubious reputation of the wines from this region. Its modern facilities and vineyard (200 hectares divided into plots) are located on an estate in the town of Trujillo, with shallow soils composed of slate and granite, good texture, and low fertility, which, together with the continental climate, favor optimal ripening and limited yields.

Bodegas Habla has introduced various innovations in the region both in the vineyard, where it is committed to ecological practices, and in winemaking. For instance, in the vineyard, it has implemented cover crops between the cultivation rows to control erosion, prevent nutritional depletion, and avoid the environmental impact of herbicides and CO2 emissions from tractors; it also employs the shade policy: arranging vegetation on the trellises in a shaded manner, ensuring slightly cooler ripening conditions and addressing the issue of excessive warmth. Additionally, it follows very strict traceability for each of the plots.

As for winemaking, it is committed to minimal intervention, allowing the typicity of the region, the character of the grape varieties, and the complement of French oak to define the style. This way, they create wines of excellent character and typicity, easy to drink, and notable for their original aesthetics.
