General Information

Mar de Frades Godello 2023 is a single-variety white wine that faithfully reflects the characteristics of the terroirs of Valle del Salnés and Ribeira de Ulla, from where its raw material originates. A perfect encounter between the saline and fresh character of the Atlantic and the delicacy and complexity of this prized inland variety, which in this wine is expressed with great personality and elegance.

Its production begins with a manual harvest of the godello grapes and their transport to the winery in small boxes. After passing through selection tables, the must was pressed, and fermentation began in stainless steel tanks at different temperatures to enhance the aromatic profile. At Mar de Frades, they chose to use the yeasts present in the grape skins to achieve the maximum expression of the terroir. After 10 months of contact with the lees, the wine gained volume and a creamy texture. Finally, a small percentage was transferred to French oak barrels, where it remained for 3 months on lees. The final blend was rounded off in the bottle for an additional 6 months before being released to the market.

The result of this meticulous production is this Mar de Frades Godello 2023, a magnificent white wine from Rías Baixas that stands out for its intense fruity notes and balanced acidity, promising excellent aging potential.

Tasting notes

Mar de Frades Godello is a wine with a pale lemon-yellow color.

On the nose, it presents aromas of fruits such as lychee, grape, currant, passion fruit, pear, nectarine, mango, and pineapple.

On the palate, it is creamy and full-bodied, a reflection of its aging on lees. It stands out for its pleasant acidity, which will define its longevity.

Creators' opinion
