Since its origin in the year 1797, Maison Louis Latour has always been linked to Burgundy. The exceptional domaine of the French firm spans 50 hectares, including the largest collection of Grand Cru vineyards in Bourgogne.
The winery's vineyards extend from the red Grand Cru of Chambertin and Romanée-Saint-Vivant, in the Côte de Nuits, to the white Grand Cru of Corton-Charlemagne and Chevalier-Montrachet, in the Côte de Beaune. Thus, the family vineyard is composed of some of the best appellations, offering wines of superlative quality in every vintage.
Authenticity is a hallmark of the house, which also prides itself on remaining an independent company with a purely family tradition. This philosophy has made it one of the most emblematic wineries in the Burgundy region.
Respect for the terroir is one of the main values of Maison Louis Latour. The house has been practicing sustainable agriculture for several decades. For them, “the terroir is the main element when it comes to crafting a great wine.”
Both the estate wines and those from associated winegrowers are clearly defined by their origin and are vinified and aged with utmost care, always respecting the tradition and elegance of the French firm.
The Louis Latour style is a blend of nature's richness and the skill of human craftsmanship.
Christophe Deola has been the winemaker in charge of Domaine Louis Latour since 2017. Passionate and meticulous, he has a clear objective: the pursuit of excellence to produce wines of great finesse and elegance.
The red wines of Louis Latour are distinguished by their delicacy, elegance, and character. The fermentations are very short but intense, allowing for an ideal extraction of fruit and tannins while avoiding excess. The result is intensely flavored reds with a good alcohol balance, providing them with a special aging potential.
The whites, on the other hand, are full-bodied, complex, and balanced. The goal is to highlight the potential of the chardonnay grape to reveal its origin. They retain a certain acidity.
