Llebre 2023 is an excellent young wine made primarily from the ull de llebre grape variety (tempranillo in Catalonia) by the Tomàs Cusiné winery in Costers del Segre. The best selected grapes of this variety are the stars of this highly expressive red. They come from sustainable vineyards located in the Prades mountains at an altitude of 715 meters. With a short maceration with its skins and an aging of 3 months in French oak barrels, this silky, fresh, and elegant red is achieved.
Llebre 2023 is an exquisite red wine made from the ull de llebre variety, sourced from sustainable trellised vineyards with an average age of over 25 years. These vines are planted on gravel soils with varying compositions of earth and rock substrates, situated at an altitude of over 700 meters above sea level. Through this ecological winemaking approach and the use of biodynamic principles, this unique red wine by Tomàs Cusiné is produced—a remarkable wine within the young red category that will delight any lover of expressiveness and balance on the palate.
The winery Tomàs Cusiné began its journey in 2003, in the municipality of El Vilosell. The goal of this personal project is to produce unique wines that reflect the singular character of this territory, thanks to the expertise of winemaker Tomàs Cusiné in the D.O. Costers del Segre. In recent years, the winery has been working extensively in the vineyard, employing precision winemaking techniques. Tomàs Cusiné oversees 30 hectares of his own vineyard, cultivated ecologically, sustainably, and following biodynamic principles.
Through this sustainable agriculture, Llebre 2023 is crafted, a young red wine under the D.O. Costers del Segre. During its production, fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature between 22 and 26 ºC, followed by a short skin maceration, aging for 3 months in French oak barrels, and further aging on lees for another 3 months in underground cement tanks. The result is this Llebre 2023, ideal for pairing with roasted red meats, cured meats, grilled vegetables, meat-based rice dishes, and legumes.

This boutique winery is the first independent project of Tomàs Cusiné in the village of El Vilosell. In 2003, after gaining the necessary experience in wineries such as Castell del Remei and Cérvoles, the winemaker decided to embark on his own wine adventure in the region of Les Garrigues.
The purpose of this winery is to craft characterful wines that represent the expression of the territory, leveraging Tomàs Cusiné's knowledge of the D.O. Costers del Segre. In recent years, the winery has been prioritizing vineyard work and precision winemaking.
Currently, it produces wines under the denominations of origin Costers del Segre, Conca de Barberà, and Monsant.
This winery has 30 hectares of vineyards, which are managed organically and sustainably. In addition to its own vineyards, there are another 70 hectares from associated winegrowers in the same area.
As a winemaker, Tomàs Cusiné demonstrates his mastery in wine blending and is recognized as an expert in this field, with over 30 harvests of experience. In short, he is one of the most renowned winemakers on the current scene, with a total production of 1,200,000 bottles, half of which are exported to more than 40 countries worldwide.
