Llebre 2022 is an exquisite red wine made from the ull de llevre variety from sustainable vineyards trained on trellises, averaging over 25 years old, planted on gravel soils of various quantities and substrates of earth and rock at over 700 meters above sea level. With this ecological approach to winemaking and using biodynamic concepts, this unique red from Tomàs Cusiné is produced, an excellent wine within its range of young reds that will delight any lover of expressiveness and balance on the palate.
The winery Tomàs Cusiné began its journey in 2003, in the municipality of El Vilosell. The goal of this personal project is to produce unique wines that represent the singular character of this territory, thanks to the knowledge that winemaker Tomàs Cusiné has of the D.O. Costers del Segre. In recent years, the winery has been working exhaustively in the vineyard, using precision enology. Tomàs Cusiné has 30 hectares of his own vineyard, which is worked ecologically, sustainably, and under the principles of biodynamics.
With this sustainable agriculture, Llebre 2022 is produced, a young red wine under the D.O. Costers del Segre. During its production, fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature between 22 and 26 ºC and a short skin maceration, followed by 3 months aging in French oak barrels and another 3 months aging on lees in underground cement tanks. The result is this Llebre 2022, ideal to accompany roasted red meats, cold cuts, grilled vegetables, meat rice dishes, and legumes.
Cherry red color with garnet reflections, clean and bright.
Clean on the nose and soft, with aromas of red fruit, candy, vanilla, and very well-integrated notes of white pepper.
On the palate, the entry is silky, fresh, and elegant, with round tannins.
This boutique winery is the first independent project of Tomàs Cusiné in the village of El Vilosell. In 2003, after gaining the necessary experience in wineries such as Castell del Remei and Cérvoles, the winemaker decided to embark on his own wine adventure in the region of Les Garrigues.
The purpose of this winery is to craft characterful wines that represent the expression of the territory, leveraging Tomàs Cusiné's knowledge of the D.O. Costers del Segre. In recent years, the winery has been prioritizing vineyard work and precision winemaking.
Currently, it produces wines under the denominations of origin Costers del Segre, Conca de Barberà, and Monsant.
This winery has 30 hectares of vineyards, which are managed organically and sustainably. In addition to its own vineyards, there are another 70 hectares from associated winegrowers in the same area.
As a winemaker, Tomàs Cusiné demonstrates his mastery in wine blending and is recognized as an expert in this field, with over 30 harvests of experience. In short, he is one of the most renowned winemakers on the current scene, with a total production of 1,200,000 bottles, half of which are exported to more than 40 countries worldwide.
