Legaris Reserva 2021 is the most awarded wine from Bodegas Legaris vintage after vintage. The flagship wine of the Valladolid-based winery, it is made from Tinto Fino grapes from vineyards over 40 years old, located at nearly 1000 meters above sea level. Legaris Reserva 2021 is a single-varietal wine made from Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) grapes, carefully selected from small bush-trained vineyards aged between 40 and 90 years, located in four villages of the Burgos region: Peñaranda del Duero, Olmedillo de Roa, Roa, and Hontoria de Valdearados. At an average altitude of 850 to 1000 meters, these old vines are grown on low-fertility soils with a well-defined personality. The high standards of Bodegas Legaris regarding grape quality and ripeness result in only 7 or 8 vintages of this magnificent Reserva red wine being produced each decade.

The production of this red wine, under the D.O. Ribera del Duero, began with high-quality grapes harvested manually in 15 kg boxes. Once at the winery, the grapes were destemmed and transferred to 5200-liter stainless steel tanks, where vinification was carried out separately according to the different origins of the fruit. After fermentation, the wine from each tank was transferred to new French oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation and subsequent aging took place until the final blending. 18 months of aging and a gentle clarification completed the production process of Legaris Reserva 2021, a red wine that pairs beautifully with Castilian lamb, roasted or grilled red meats, game stews, and aged cheeses.

Very intense cherry red color with garnet reflections.
On the nose, it presents aromas of very ripe black fruit, interwoven with licorice, and fine balsamic and toasted nuances.
On the palate, it is a velvety wine with mature tannins, very full-bodied, powerful, warm, and with a long aftertaste.
